Social media and People

I am a social media fan(addict) since a decade now. Also, at this point, I have deleted my social media applications for at least a sweet 20 times! Today I did it for the 21st. But I tell you, when I decide to disconnect, it’s a 360 degree disconnection. I decide neither to show nor to see. This makes me calmer and relieved. This relief have been a short one though, maximum i managed to stretch was a half day. Why?

My special synopsis

Two types of urges here:

1. Ok, let’s see what others are up to, keep mum about myself.

If you are equally active on social media, only then will you like the things shared by others, else it all will be like one bitter gargle. You will end up in a vicious criticism cycle. No balance achieved, ever.

2. Ok, let’s see the reactions to my activities too.

This urge is balanced. You shared a piece of your own life and see same from others. You criticise and are open to take it too. Sometimes it’s all praises, sometimes it’s absence of praises. If you don’t take things personally (ironical), then it’s not a big deal to end up with very few responses. So, in a way this is balanced but yes, engrossing.

So, decide, who am I?

I am definitely the second one or a no one!

In the end, its all our day to day life that goes in the hands of hundreds to contemplate. So one has to be careful and mindful. Though it’s personal , but don’t take things too personally, just live life and let social media take the by product, not vice versa.
